Skiing and snowboarding in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee
The ski area around Altenmarkt is particularly popular with families and beginners. The nursery slopes with practice lifts by the valley lift stations are suitable for beginners.
The skiing mountain, shared by both Altenmarkt and Radstadt, lies at the entry point into the Salzburger Sportwelt, which with its 320 km of pistes is probably beyond the capability of even a skier in good physical condition. This region in turn is a part of the Ski amadé, which with its unbelievable 865 (!) km of slopes and 270 lifts outshines other international ski associations.
From Altenmarkt there is a free ski bus connection to Zauchensee. 8 lifts and 34 km of varied pistes make the Kemahdhöhe one of the most popular skiing mountains - amongst both beginners and piste experts.
The ski area of Flachau is just 5 minutes by car away and the bus stop for the free ski bus to Altenmarkt and Zauchensee is approx. 150 away from our house.
Numerous huts and snow bars are available on the mountains for refreshment. The huts boast not only tasty delicacies but a great atmosphere in preparation for the night life in the valley. |
